About Vidyashilp
SHILPMUN is the annual inter-school Model United Nations conference of the Vidyashilp Academy Model United Nations Society, held on campus in Yelahanka, Bengaluru.
Vidyashilp Academy is one of Bengaluru's established independent schools, offering the Cambridge Pathway from IGCSE through A Levels and the ICSE and ISC boards.
The school's identity is built around the RISE values (Respect, Integrity, Spirit, and Excellence) and a motto that has shaped its culture since its founding: “Do Well, and Do Good.”
It was from that culture that the Vidyashilp Academy Model United Nations Society was born, and with it, SHILPMUN.
The RISE Values
Respect
Integrity
Spirit
Excellence
Do Well, and Do Good.
Carrying The Legacy Forward
In October 2025, the inaugural edition of the conference brought together over 250 delegates from across the city, across 8 committees, and established SHILPMUN as a conference built on academic substance rather than spectacle.
SHILPMUN 2026 is the next step: 12 committees, over 350 delegates, and the same conviction that a conference should leave its participants sharper than it found them.
Where we started: SHILPMUN 2025
Where we are: SHILPMUN 2026
From The Secretaries-General
There is a particular silence that settles over a committee room at two in the afternoon on the second day of a conference. The opening speeches are done, and what remains is the work: the difficult, unglamorous, necessary work of finding agreement between people who walked into the room on opposite sides of the same question. That silence is where Model United Nations actually lives. Not in the ceremonies or the gavels, but in the moment a delegate realises that the person across the table has a point they cannot dismiss.
SHILPMUN was built for that moment.
Last October, 267 delegates gathered on our campus and, across three days, turned eight committee rooms into spaces where argument had to be earned and consensus had to be constructed, clause by clause, concession by concession. That was our first edition. We did not know, when we began, whether it would work. But it did. Not just because the logistics were flawless or the ceremonies were grand, but because the delegates who came chose to work seriously. That is the only thing a conference can never manufacture on its own.
This year, we return with 12 committees, 357 portfolios, and a question stitched into everything we have built: what happens when silence ends and conversation begins? Our theme, “Every Resolution is a Conversation Waiting to Happen”, is an invitation and a demand in equal measure. We are asking every delegate who registers for SHILPMUN 2026 to arrive prepared, to argue honestly, to listen before they respond, and to leave having understood something they did not understand when they walked in.
The committees you will find in these pages stretch from the Security Council to the floor of the AIPPM, from the partition negotiations of 1947 to the regulatory wars of Formula One. The breadth is deliberate. Wherever your curiosity sits, there is a room waiting for you here.
To those of you attending your first conference: do not mistake inexperience for inadequacy. The best delegates we saw last year were not always the most practised; they were the most prepared. Come ready, and the committee will meet you where you are.
We look forward to welcoming you to Vidyashilp Academy.

A message to our delegates
It gives me immense pleasure to welcome participants to ShilpMUN 2026, a platform where ideas transcend boundaries, diplomacy meets purpose, and young minds come together to shape meaningful conversations on the challenges of our world.
At its heart, Model United Nations is much more than an academic simulation. It is an opportunity to cultivate empathy, critical thinking, informed decision-making, and the courage to engage with diverse perspectives. In an era marked by complexity and uncertainty, these are not merely skills for successful delegates; they are essential attributes of responsible global citizens and future leaders.
ShilpMUN 2026 has been envisioned as a space where rigorous research, respectful dialogue, and collaborative problem-solving converge. I encourage every delegate to move beyond the pursuit of awards and embrace the true spirit of diplomacy: listening with an open mind, negotiating with integrity, and striving for solutions that balance national interests with our shared responsibility towards humanity.
Behind every successful conference is a dedicated team whose commitment transforms an idea into reality. I extend my sincere appreciation to the Secretariat, the Executive Board members, faculty mentors, and the organising committee for their unwavering dedication and meticulous efforts in making this conference possible.
To all our delegates, I invite you to participate with curiosity, confidence, and conviction. May ShilpMUN 2026 inspire you to question thoughtfully, collaborate meaningfully, and leave with perspectives that extend far beyond the committee room.
I wish you all an enriching, engaging, and memorable conference.
Warm regards,
Madhusree Dutta Majumdar
